To Foxy for a Feed

The rumbling tum is the cause of many excuses to venture out into the big wide world. You can either go hunting and gathering yourself or go somewhere that has already done that for you. In the western world this process has become highly refined to the point where these places have become important social and cultural maintenance sites. They often go by the name of cafe, restaurant, food court or similar and one weekend in April was a prime example of this with the Classic’s Crew availing themselves of such an opportunity with a visit to Sams Bakery in Foxton.
It must be said that a ride to Foxton could not be described as exciting (especially with all the 80km rural speed limits now in place) but it is a very pleasant ride that allows one to enjoy the unique rural ambience of flood plain farming. These sights and smells were very quickly replaced with the wonderful aromas of a very busy bakery situated on State Highway One. We spent a very pleasant part of the morning enjoying our food, the sun and the always interesting flow of vehicles on our main north/south drag up the middle of the North Island. All to soon it was time to head home after a suitable meeting of the clan that reaffirmed the cultural importance of motorcycles and many members returned home with some new knowledge to help them revive and improve the two wheeled artefacts they have in their special caves/garages. It was definitely a morning well spent!
PS this was written a couple of months ago and unfortunately one of our crew had an accident in the mean time. Get well soon Ray and we look forward to you rejoining clan/crew in the near future.
