Spring has Sprung.

There’s nothing like going for a ride in spring. The lambs, the blossoms, the sun, the cafe's and of course the bikes. We are certainly making the most of it post lockdown two and the hopefully vague possibility of lockdown three. Here are a few photos of a few of our Sunday outings with The Wool Shed Cafe in Sanson a popular destination with its wonderful food and plenty of space. No wonder the carpark is rather full each time we go. Our usual route is via Makino Rd, Stanway, Kakariki  and Sanson.

A ride up to Hunterville was also included and while our usual cafe was closed we discovered the 'Pie Cart' over the road where we had a nice brew and food as we watched the busy parade of vehicles down State Highway One. Vinegar Hill and the backroads paralleling State Highway One are always interesting with the final run for home through Halcombe and Mount Stewart seemingly more busy with traffic.

Whilst the green of the hills and the countryside are very vivid there is definitely a sense of warmth in the air as we head towards Christmas and Summer. The thought of warm rides and dry roads through a more muted landscape is a very entertaining thought. Plans are already afoot to make the most of this with more extended rides being planned as the days get longer and summer holidays approach!
