Potato, Potato. Is it all about food?

Heading out on a Sunday ride is an activity that requires very 'careful' planning. The weather is always a good place to start as avoiding precipitation is a priority. The distance and time allocation due to other domestic and non motorcycling activities are then factored in with the final consideration (and for some the most important) being where to stop for food and beverages. Some might even say that the sights and sounds of motorcycles work on a sub conscious level that encourages an appetite. A case in point was our recent ride back to one of our favourite destinations, The Woolshed Cafe. Before our departureYoung Ian was admiring Sir Al's Harley Davidson Sportster and what did he order? a baked potato! The rest of the crew ordered everything from date and apple cake through to good old kiwi bacon and egg pie.

The ride out was our well worn Makino road run with the Valley road thrown in for a bit more distance and curves. Sir Al led the way and set a hurried pace that still allowed for the odd glance around the countryside. In no time at all our stop at Stanway Hall appeared and after natter or two we were soon on our way to The Woolshed. The place was as busy as ever and we managed to acquire our usual table where we enjoyed the wonderful food. The conversations revolved around all sorts of motorcycle related topics and the trials and tribulations from the previous week were well and truely delegated to the back of the mind for a few hours. The following week became a necessary means to enable more riding and food the following week! Oh well..... someone has to do it.
