Classics Club Ride Feb 2023

Its always a great way to spend a Sunday. That is with bunch of people who share your passion for motorcycling and heritage motorcycling in particular. The Manawatu Classic Motorcycle Club has been around since the eighties and matured into a well established part of the vehicle heritage scene not only at the local level, but also at the national level as well. Many are also a part of other groups based primarily around different marques of bikes such as Nortons, Moto Guzzi, BSA and so on. Other activities include organising an annual swap meet, a club rally and also the occasional national rally. They have a very full monthly calendar with a club meet and many other rides to rallies and classic racing events around the country.

The middle of the month sees a meeting at the clubrooms at the Bunnythorpe Community Centre followed by an organised ride out and about in the district with the ride culminating in a cafe or restaurant for lunch. The carpark outside was made up of motorcycles from the fifties through to moderns. Johns   For February the run was organised by Kieran who had us heading out from Bunnythorpe to our first stop at Linton via Ashhurst. All rather familiar terrain for most of us, but from there on he took us through some interesting roads around Opiki that many of us hadn't been on. We gradually made our way in a  westerly direction towards our final destination in Feilding with a few more twists and turns that saw some heading off in 'alternative directions'. After gathering in the strays Murrays Bar saw a full complement of those who began the run.

A big thank you to the Club for continuing the strong commitment to the local motorcycling community and for those looking for a bit of motorcycling camaraderie of a classic nature come along for a spin some time. Check them out below.
