Halcombe Pie Run

"Their Pies are legendary" was a big claim that deserved to be tested. And we had just the people to do it. A gathering of like minded pie gourmets and motorcyclists met at Memorial Park a couple of weekends ago who some might say are well qualified to pass judgement on such claims. With decades of experience in smoko rooms, bakery's and cafes around the world it was time to put these pies to the test. There was some haste as the Rusty Radiators reputation has spread far and wide with an early arrival necessary to secure one of these pies.  A quick run through Colyton, then on to Makino Road and turned off at Mangone Rd and headed into Halcombe. But this was not our final stop as Gary had us heading off out of town and looping back into Halcombe via Tokorangi. We finally made it to the Rusty Radiator and just in time for the last of the pies. After our arrival a lot of people turned up from all directions including one gentleman who took a liking to Stuarts Water Bus. We have been invited to see his 'customised' GT750 along with his extensive garden railway in Whanganui. Another great excuse for a ride! So how good were the pies? Really good and I would definitely go back for another one!
